Actuarial Analyst

Actuarial Analyst

Duties include experience studies, trend forecasting, product development/pricing, rate filings and ad hoc actuarial reporting. The work ensures that the individual health products are priced appropriately to meet financial goals.

Trend Analysis (25%): Analyze past claims experience to predict future claims costs, and then project appropriate rate actions.
Rate Filings (25%): Prepare actuarial memorandums to be filed with the various departments of insurance in order for the rates to be approved for use.
Coordination of Quoting Systems (15%): Coordinates the accuracy and implementation of all the quoting systems used throughout the company and by outside partners.
Experience Studies (15%): Analyze past claims experience to determine if any changes need to be made in product design, underwriting, claims payment, or pricing.
Ad hoc Actuarial Reporting (10%): Put together special reports that may be needed by departments throughout the company or various outside parties.
Product Development (10%): Assist in the design and pricing of new individual health products.
